My name is Mary Wooden and I am a Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol. I joined the Civil Air Patrol in 2009 and have since attained the rank of Captain. I am also the Boeing 787 Flight Training Manager for United Airlines, where I started as an intern in 2011. I have Bachelor’s degree in Aviation from Ohio University, as well as a Master’s degree in Airline Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
When I’m not working with United and the Civil Air Patrol, I love flying taildraggers and seaplanes, as well as volunteering with my flying club, the Bronze Eagles. I enjoy giving discovery flights to middle school and high school aged youth.
Female Aviators Sticking Together has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with other women pilots, both professionally and personally. Through F.A.S.T. I can connect and share thoughts with like-minded women that understand and can empathize with the unique struggles that we all face.
