“It was F.A.S.T. that helped make it possible!”

2017 F.A.S.T. Scholarship Recipient (Instrument Rating/ Commercial License)

At the beginning of this year I was feeling discouraged about how slowly my flight training was happening.  While trying to save enough money for my Instrument Rating, I had worked three jobs and applied for many scholarships.  Despite not being able to start my Instrument Rating last year, I kept busy by teaching my first ground school, earning my Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor certificates, mentoring my friend, and becoming a maintenance “crew chief” for one of my club’s airplanes.

When I saw that Female Aviators Sticking Together was offering Scholarships, I applied for one!  One day I had a flower delivery, and when the florist came there was a note attached Congratulating me on Winning the F.A.S.T. Scholarship and asking me to text a number on the card.  I was so excited!  But that was only the beginning!

When Andrea (F.A.S.T. President) called me, she said that she had talked to my Instructor at my Flying Club and found out that I also wanted to become a CFI, so F.A.S.T. decided to help me finish my Instrument Rating and give me a boost into my Commercial License.  Oh, my goodness!  I started to cry.  Last year God told me that things would begin to happen suddenly, and now suddenly this was happening!

And it was F.A.S.T. that helped make it possible!
